Established in 2005 by Monica Plewes, CORE Studio ranks among Toronto’s best and most recognized pilates and yoga studios. With more than 70 classes each week, we have something for everyone — from those who want a physically challenging practice to those who prefer to unwind with slow, restorative classes. Our 5,000 square foot boutique yoga and pilates studio features two matwork practice rooms with stunning views of the Toronto skyline, a state-of-the-art reformer and tower equipment studio, two private session rooms, change rooms, and a lounge area.
Yoga and Pilates Experience
Our experienced and knowledgeable instructors deliver quality programs with your goals in mind. Their understanding of anatomy and movement, combined with years of teaching experience, give them the ability to help you tweak your form, so that you get the most out of your practice. Our small class sizes mean that you get more hands-on instruction with an emphasis on technique, which leads to amazing results.
Yoga and Pilates Classes
In our pilates classes, we are committed to incorporating the key principles of Joseph Pilates in each workout: concentration, centring, control, breathing, precision, and flowing movements. Classes range in intensity from rehabilitative to restorative to active, dynamic, and athletic. Each class works the entire body and integrates weighted toning balls, jump boards, foam rollers, and other equipment for variety and further challenge.
Practice flexibility of mind and body in our yoga classes. We offer several styles of yoga, from physically challenging vinyasa yoga, to hatha yoga with guided yoga nidra meditation, and restorative yoga. If you are looking for a way to stretch a tight body, try our yin yoga classes.
Choose a level and style of class that will help you ease into a new type of practice, or add to your routine and change it up a bit. Try our different teachers to deepen and broaden your experience. Whatever your reason — to keep fit, stay healthy, or push your athletic limits — we are here to help you reach your goals.
Specialized Training and Programs
With prenatal yoga and pilates, postnatal pilates bootcamp, and mommy-and-me and family yoga classes, CORE’s pre-and postnatal program is continuing to grow. We are also proud of our rehabilitative pilates program for those recovering from injury. This winter, we are introducing a new rehabilitative pilates class to the schedule, Posture Perfect, which is slower in pace and which focuses on strengthening the deep muscles of the spine, for those who require a more gentle approach to their practice. This class is geared to students who are experiencing chronic back pain, have a history of bulging disks, or have chronic conditions such as scoliosis or multiple sclerosis.
CORE Studio Pilates in downtown Toronto is looking for enthusiastic, professional and reliable #Pilates and #Barre instructors to join our team. Our studio offers group classes in Mat, Reformer, Tower, Barre, TRX and Classical Pilates.
The ideal Pilates candidate will be Power Pilates, Balanced Body or STOTT Pilates trained at minimum on Mat and Reformer, ideally Fully Certified in all apparatus.
Barre instructors will ideally have 1 year of experience teaching Barre or Dance, and have a certification or training in either or both.
You will have the opportunity to teach in a private, semi-private and group class setting. Great opportunity to practice and develop your teaching skills if you are a recent graduate! A fantastic opportunity to work for a boutique Pilates studio where customer service is key!
