Elmhirst’s Resort is a cottage resort, conference facility and spa with world class dining and activities for the whole family in all 4 seasons. Our collection of cottages is nestled on the breathtaking shoreline of Rice Lake and an array of outdoor adventures await. Our family offers yours the very best of the Kawarthas — much of it on our very own property. In fact, we raise our own beef, and grow much of what we serve in our lakefront dining room, bringing new meaning to farm-to-table. Our 240-acre property, passed along from one generation to the next, is cornerstone of the Elmhirst Resort experience. We’re committed to preserving that property for the future — for our family and for yours.

Open from April until late October, a visit to historic sawmill Hope Mill is a chance to step back in time and see how logs were sawn and milled in the mid 1800s in our area. Interestingly, the Hope Mill recently supplied the Eastern White Cedar lumber for the replacement new decking for the Tall Ship Expeditions Canada 🇨🇦 Put this on your bucket list while you stay with us; located nearby on the shores of the Indian River. http://hopemill.ca/come-visit-us/ #TravelTuesday

Stop and sit awhile, take in the view... This hand-carved chair which sits on the shoreline in front of cottage 10, was carved by famous stone artist Tod Braun from St Joseph, Manitoba. Family friend, Michael Resch, was overseer of the project on our behalf. It represents an enduring monument to Arthur and Marybelle Elmhirst, second generation of Elmhirst tenure on this land. #ThrowbackThursday

1 week ago Such a beautiful and fitting tribute to two of the finest people ever. We never had a trip there that didn‘t include a conversation with Art and Marybelle. Every summer was like a renewal of friendship. Their golden legacies extend far beyond the shores of Rice Lake.
