The Loft Pilates and GYROTONIC® Studio is located in the Junction. Our specialty is spinal health.

Our group classes are small so that we can pay attention to what you're doing, offer individual corrections and provide hands on support.

Our objective is to teach you the deep work the Pilates method as to offer. We teach you how to transfer the skills you've learned in class to your day-to-day life and physical activities.

We offer Pilates in a private, semi-private setting and group classes.

In addition to Pilates, The Loft is the first studio in the west end of Toronto to offer GYROTONIC®, a complementary approach to the work of Joseph Pilates.

Our expertise is in pre/post natal training, chronic back pain, herniated disc, scoliosis, hip replacements, reconstructive knee surgeries and osteoporosis.

The Loft is more than just a place to exercise, it is a personal journey of self exploration. We are certain that you will truly appreciate the knowledge, care and dedication we have to offer.

    TUESDAYS WITH BRUTUS: Brutus loves to be in front of the ATV and dictate the pace. I like it when Brutus leads. It makes me feel safe that he will know when to slow down, take his breaks when needed and go the distance safely.

    TUESDAYS with BRUTUS: No Halloween costume for this big boy. He probably would let me get away with it for a little before shredding it apart. .
     
    Grooming comes with owning a Golden-Doodle. I prefer doing it. The face is what I finish with. At this stage Brutus has had his hair brushed, detangled and combed. It's a big job that requires patience from both of us and a few treats..... Yes for both.

    I ♥️ MONDAYS: Thinking of Halloween and of my first trick or treat experience. I was 28. Made my own Tickle Me Elmo costume. It had a hood with the face on it so I could hide my age and truly experience Halloween like a kid. I had a pumpkin basket.
     
    Some people had a laugh while some told me off. Some people thanked me when I waved to their kids ( I was popular with the 3-4 years old) while some expected me to sing to their children. I was a total disappointment a parent told me.
     
    I am very thankful to those who went out of their way to create a scary and creepy atmosphere. I will always remember this particular house. It was dark and I never saw the trigger. A jet of air blew in my face and in my defense I kicked my arms up. I knew it happened to others when the owner pulled her flash light to help me find my spilled candy.
     
    In anticipation of tomorrow night Happy Halloween everyone.
     
    We stumbled on this little fellow during our last portaging trip.

    TUESDAYS with BRUTUS: One can't helped but feeling loved when someone or some animal runs back to you with such energy and enthusiasm. I rarely use the command "come" with him. "Where is my puppy" is an assured return. "Come" is used more often in the sense of follow me for us.

    TUESDAYS with BRUTUS: He dove in the pond, came back to us and rolled himself in pine needles covered of sap. He stinks, he sticks but he's happy. Our neighbor's 3 years old golden lab showed him where and how to cool off yesterday. He watch her, and only went in once she was gone. I don't think he'll be coming to The Loft tomorrow morning. 🤔

    Saturday Intimacy: my bad everyone I've haven't been able to complete our next round of videos. In the meantime I'll share with you some of the props I use for scoliosis and nervous system regulation. A common challenge in scoliosis is finding a more balanced activation of the hips and both hemispheres of the pelvis. This is the end of our class. This was new for Chelsea and she loved it. 😍

    TUESDAYS with BRUTUS: Confidence goes a long way. We found the bull on our property early this morning. Brutus chased him off gently, playfully yet with firmness. Before I was able to get my camera out there was a starring contest and both decided to charge. I guess Brutus was more confident as I saw the bull turning around right before the contact point.

    I ❤️ Mondays: It's always good to have a breath of fresh air to clear your mind. There's always something so unique about the serenity and calmness of the nature that surrounds us. I find it to be very therapeutic for the mind and soul.

    "Hardwiring Happiness" by Rick Hanson is an easy read. Not only will it explain the science behind brain happiness but it offers tools to change this automatic response. So thankful for brain neuroplasticity. If you don't have time to read, download an audio version.
     
    No need to be afraid of change. One of my mentors told me once, a very long time ago, "Try it and if you don't like it, you can always go back to what you know."

    I ❤ Mondays: Today's Reveal!
     
    Card A: When a monkey swings from tree to tree, it needs to be quick in choosing its next branch. Like the monkey, it's important to keep going. As we age, we start to notice our bodies changing and our level of movement decreasing. When this happens, it's important to stop and listen to your body's needs. Using this info, assess and act towards changing old habits in your body into a new direction in your movement. For this week, stop and think about how your body responds to those movements and act accordingly.
     
    Card B: Sometimes we scurry and rush, like the squirrel, trying to prepare for the next winter. Rather than rush, it's important to make each movement count. Worrying will only make it harder. This week, allow yourself to de-stress and keep breathing so that your mind is ready for new changes to your body.
     
    Card C: Seals are known to be playful, imaginative and supportive. Sometimes we are afraid of doing new things. It's important to not limit yourself and the way you express your body. This week, focus on letting go and don't be afraid to push yourself further, without crossing your limits, and allowing for friendly support if your body needs it.
